Brendan’s Story
Brendan was like any other 8-year-old boy. He loved superheroes, sports, riding his bike or scooter, video games, playing with his twin brother, Brayden and all their friends. Brendan lived every day to the fullest. Both kids and adults alike gravitated to Brendan. Brendan cared about everyone and always looked out for and thought of others. His heart was bigger than his body.
Somehow Brendan developed a love and fascination for Deadpool. From the time he was about six everything was about Deadpool. He had quite a collection of action figures and other collectibles. He drew the Deadpool logo on just about everything. I think his favorite Christmas gift of all time was when he got his Deadpool costume. He wore that almost every day. Unfortunately, Brendan’s life was cut short due to a massive brain aneurysm on September 1st, 2019, less than two weeks after his 8th birthday.
He loved his Deadpool costume so much that we chose to have him laid to rest in it along with some of his favorite Deadpool toys. When we started Brendan’s Buddies Foundation we thought it was only appropriate to make our logo’s colors red and black in honor of his favorite superhero. Brendan continued to touch others even after his passing through the Gift of Life program where his kidney helped save the life of a little girl who was at Children’s Hospital at the same time. We continue to keep his memory alive and build a legacy in his name through our foundation. He continues to touch the lives of others with every child and family we are able to help. Brendan will forever be our superhero.
Our Mission
Brendan’s Buddies Foundation was created in loving memory of our son, Brendan Ryan McFadyen, whose life was unexpectedly cut short by a brain aneurysm.
Our mission for “Brendan’s Buddies” is to help families in their most difficult of times in Brendan’s honor. To help the families of children who suffer and/or die of brain aneurysms and also families who suffer the death of a school aged child. Our goal is to provide love and support for their unexpected expenses and financial hardships encountered in the most difficult of times.
Our Brendan had the biggest of hearts and touched the lives of so many people that knew him. We want to keep his legacy alive by touching the lives of others in their time of need.
